Fatherly Mirage
Fatherly Mirage
He would have towed me
On his shoulder
Never ground
He wouldn't have let me be a patient
Or be doctorly crowned
He would have gave me pasta or bread
He would've never bestowed on me any life's dread
I would play basketball
He would've been my teacher
Even if he knew nothing at all
He would've taught me to beat others
I would be the center
I would be a part of his world
I would glorify each food item, each pearl
He could have been
But he choose to not be
I love this illusion of a father supporting me.
Better than resentment
Better than negative theory
Better than any relationship forgery
I would rather be happy with this illusionary
That my father was the best
Than give myself to worry.
