I am that 

fallen leaf

that the zephyr 

of turmoil 

truncates every day. 

Failing to rise 

like a phoenix 

from the ashes, 

I lie 

And await 

to be thrown to oblivion. 

Not able to even squirm, 

I lie,

I breathe 

And count 

my moment 

of existence.

Yes, 

I am that fallen leaf

I am that fallen leaf

that awaits its end.
