Effervescent Africa

Effervescent Africa

The land of the Pharaohs and the mighty river Nile

Africa stretches across more than ten million squares mile.

It is the second largest continent

And is a land of joy and contentment.

Bounded on all sides by seas and oceans

A trip down here works like a magical potion.

The wondrous safaris and nature at its scenic best

To visit them all is the travellers’ quest

Home to the picturesque Victorian falls and the great Sahara desert

And yet could not the wrath of the selfish Europeans it avert.

They said they came here for trade but made many a colony

Brazen and shameless they were even on committing such a fe

lony.

Slave trade and apartheid were at their rampant worst

Now was the time when the bubble of patience of the Africans burst.

They realised to salvage their lost honour and glory

They had to send the Europeans back home and finish their story.

They emerged victorious when they raised their voice

And soon they had enough reason to celebrate and rejoice.

Today there are 54 beautiful countries in this continent so vast

The landscapes, beauty and history of which are unsurpassed.

African countries and India nurture awesome bonds of friendship

And together they act with solidarity and workmanship.
