Earth Story

The issues our environment is facing are not unknown,

It is something we've been taught since we could speak.

The Earth is not our property, not something we own.

Why then are we abusing its resources, turning it weak?

Resources consumed faster than they can be replenished.

We've been part of this, don't even regret it.

Extinction of plants and animals.

Shortage of water and oil.

Depletion of elements and minerals.

Degradation of forests and soil.

Known to be the deadliest and smartest

But I didn't know we could pass as uncaring.

We're destroying things so unknowingly fast,

What's it we're not seeing?

I'm not saying none of us are trying.

I'm just asking, why not everyone?

Just befriend our nature and explore it,

That's when we'd truly be one.

That's when you'd understand the importance of the nature over fights.

When we'll not be our ego fits and we'd truly have won.

The Earth has music for all those who listen.

Why are we damaging the place where we're living?

We haven't inherited the Earth, we do not own it.

We're just saving it for the future, we're just safekeeping.
