Not Alone
Not Alone
When the curtains shadow over the stage
That's when the real play begins.
No more under a script's shade.
Now it's our words we're breathing.
Whatever's happened cannot be undone.
There are no do-overs, no cuts.
There are no writers and directors. No sidekicks dying in vain.
Its a one man show, showcasing our pain.
The spotlight fixed on me,
Distracting and blindingly bright.
My eyes burn as forget my lines.
Ashamed and afraid, I close my eyes.
I open my eyes to see the audience.
But I see no strangers, instead, I see my friends and parents.
Scared no more, that's when I realize,
They'll always be there for me when I laugh and cry, as I live my life.
