Earth Day

My birthday is on 22nd April, Earth Day,

I celebrate it as breath-day.

Earth is my home and big is its circumference,

Surrounded by trees and nature in abundance.

The preparations are a list of actions to be undertaken

Right from plantings trees to their maintenance.

I want to become an inspiration for all,

And see all my people taking the call.

I have nurtured beautiful gardens and parks,

And heard the buzzing of bees and singing of larks.

I keep my surroundings clean by taking a lead,

And am amused to see it is the need.

I have mastered many arts and strung all gems,

My birthday is the day when I showcase them.

My birthday is celebrated with joy,

As mother earth joins to enjoy.

She carries lovely return gifts,

Baskets of cherries not to be missed.

I appeal to celebrate your birthday as earth day,

And have each day known as Earth Day.
