Is every rain accompanied by thunder and lightning?

Oh my poor soul, age has my memory draining

Can't remember a thunderous rain such as today's

Is Mother Nature angry or happy being so loud on a Friday?

Early morning still in bed, I could only hear her scream

Her intense lightning must have turned objects into cream

I was awakened, as her voice sent shivers down my spine

Unlike most, I know her well and her powers are like a mine

Extremely scary, yet she fascinates me time after time

Many are dying of Corona, but she still can't smile

Maybe the count is not what she expected mile after mile

Just one hour of her fury has caused the roads and walls to collapse

What if she launches her typhoons after some lapse?

She has a whole lot of tricks in her bag, locked with a clasp

From floods to tsunamis, she can release anything with a rasp

Stop your imagination human, as nothing is in your grasp

I feared for my old house which cannot handle this heavy a rainfall

I wish the ceiling in one of the rooms just won't fall

Of late my thoughts are manifesting, is it for the good?

I wonder if my intuition is real or is it just my mood?

My life is better off than billions out there, so no need to brood

A message from my sibling, of the devastation caused by today's rain

At the exact very time, I was contemplating if I was really in some pain

Consoled and contained my thoughts from moving faster than a bullet train

I assume her anger is unbiased, as nothing is spared in its path

Good or evil, it is only my definition of life as I see it

Humans and wild animals none can escape it

Her judgment is random and who am I to question it

She can give life and death at the very same instant

Will man ever respect her and keep her constant?
