Don'T Wait

Don'T Wait

Wait I tell myself, just a bit longer.

Soon something will happen that will make everything fall into place.

That will set you on a path to your inevitable success,

So wait, even though right now you can't seem to take off the palm  off your face.

And so I waited for that sign from the universe,

To be told - now you can start,

Time just flew by, and I was still waiting.

Waiting as I watched my life fall apart.

And one day I gathered the courage to tell myself,

No more waiting!

All I have done is wait, and I haven't got anything done.

And despite the aggression and accusal in my voice,

I knew, this was no sudden revelation,

But as simple as it was, this was a lesson I needed to learn.

The only right time to do anything is now,

You have fallen behind, but you are not late.

So, this time, I told myself, 'just start!'

It's going to be tough, but then most beginnings are,

Just start, plan ahead, but for heaven's sake, don't wait.
