Don't Mind
Don't Mind
The corridors are empty,
We don't meet there anymore.
The days are long,
We don't have an excuse to talk anymore.
You remain busy with your meetings,
With a 'Thank You' here and a 'Well Done' there.
I should know, I 'sometimes' steal glances at you.
Do you mind?
Yes, you never made promises to me,
But my stupid heart and my illogical mind,
They said you were the one.
And like a ship misguided by the false set of stars,
I am now marooned in nowhere.
But in her
e, the moonlight is fine,
I get to pick up my pieces and put myself together.
Cracks may remain though.
Do you mind?
Hey, I have wanted to write this for a long time now,
And to stop thinking about you.
But how do I write about you without thinking?
When this poem is just one of another half a dozen waiting.
Perhaps another life, another time
We will hold hands and I will read these poems to you.
Till then, I will fill up my diary so we don't fall short.
I don't mind. Do you mind?
