Don't Be Surprised, Dear World!
Don't Be Surprised, Dear World!
Don’t be surprised, Dear World!
It’s not always chocolates, satin and rosy pink
For the gentle brook that soothes and gives,
Drowns and obliterates, when forced beyond the brink!
Don’t be outmoded dear Son,
Better not live in times behind!
For the hand that rocks the cradle,
Knows how to protect its kind!
Don’t be repressed, dear Daughter!
It’s not about the skirt and hemline!
Be confident of the choices you make
And have the courage to determine!
Don’t you worry dear Life-Mate,
I will not argue about who’s the better half!
I am holding the fort at my front, you, care for your part
The twain’s may or may not meet, But let’s not dwell on the riff-raff!
Don’t be startled dear Male-Colleague!
It’s not about the dividing line!
It was never yours to distort
The respect and dignity that is rightfully mine!
Don’t be disillusioned dear Spectator
Slender models on the ramp-walk need not make you squirm
I am comfortable in my skin, and I refuse to starve
I am every bit worthy of living on my own terms!
A word of caution for the Moral Police:
The Defenders of the repugnant, despicable molesters!
Do not have the audacity to justify the offenders with such brawn!
Proclivity for Pawing, Ogling, and Passing Lewd Remarks should be curbed
For while defending such criminals, you’ve positioned yourself as utter morons!
So… don’t be taken aback dear Womankind!
When life throws us lemons, we make refreshing lime-juice,
When faced with adversities, we deliver
With Dignity, Courage, Creativity, Love…. and Smoothly Cruise!
