Diplomacy

I filed an application for registry, 

Waited for a year, 

Expecting it to get cleared, 

The department said it shall be done, 

I asked the civil servant to get it done, 

Nothing happened, 

I went to their office at 9 am, 

Met the gazetted officer, 

With affidavits the work was done, 

Payment was submitted, 

The application was sent ahead, 

For approval,

I requested the administrative officer, 

To put a word to the director, 

Everyday I was promised it would be done, 

But promises are only promises, 

Meant to be made and never to be fulfilled, 

The day has passed and work remains undone, 

Tomorrow I shall go to the office, 

To see the situation, 

Am so sad with the way work is done in these

Offices, 

No one moves a pin but is busy all the time, 

Diplomacy to keep things pending, 

Is a real harassment...
