City Lights
City Lights
When the sun eases up at dusk
Birds chirp their way to sleep
It is then that the city lights emerge
Below which I sit ecstatic to read.
To read the expression of the yawning child
Who walks his way up the street
The street Making it difficult for him to drag his un-customized bag.
He follows, as his footsteps lead.
To read the face of the couple
Trying to construct a chapter within
With their arms intertwined with trust
For their love story to begin
To read in between the lanes
The lanes that answer the slum roll call
Where kids run wild in their happy tune
Unaware of the world in its an ambitious haul
There comes chatter from the"gossip girls"
Talking their way aloud with a laughter beat
Making even the trees smile along
While listening to their parody
Taking a break from the hectic world
To breathe in the choicest air
I sit under the City lights for a while
To find the "here" in nowhere
As I see the moon clearing it's way through clouds
The dear temple bells playing the music of purity
To the day full of wonders and bout
I say see ya' tomorrow, to unbox a new troop of stories.
