Choice

I stood at a point where I had to choose one,

They both lied in front of me,

One of the road wanted me to live for myself,

To do the deeds which made me happy,

Whether right or wrong but to earn for myself,

Alas! I chose the other one,

Where I had to think for others,

Sacrifice, adjust and cry for others,

Looking for love but giving more in return,

Spending sleepless nights to give rest to others,

Earning but not spending on myself,

Took my health to the point,

Where there is only pain and regret,

Alas! I cannot go back to choose the other road,

As the time has gone,

But the pain still persists,

When I think what have I got for myself.
