Tragedy Crime Others

But Why women?

But Why women?

How powerful are women?

Powerful enough to shake the world?

Or just to be oppressed, suppressed and sealed shut?

Under each constitution, we reside free,

But in the eyes of that monster,

We are nothing but a play toy.

They say there’s not enough education,

Thus women are oppressed, suppressed and sealed shut.

Does that make any sense?

We got our independence long back,

But when will we get independence from the suffocation of those lustrous stares?

We are told that it is always our fault,

Our fault that a so-called man couldn’t control himself,

Couldn’t control his eyes, hands and hormones.

Even after being a victim,

We reside beneath society and its views,

While the corrupt move free,

And we are bounded by the heavy chains which scream that we were at fault.

But why women?

Is it our mistake to be a woman?

Is it our mistake that we couldn’t hide even under 15 layers of clothing?

Is it our fault that a man is always ready to grope us?

Society needs to learn,

Needs to learn that it’s not the woman,

But a so-called man who is raped by his humanity.
