Liberation

Liberation

She was quivering with weakness,

Cold in bones and longing in eyes.

He finally came, steadily,

Bridging distance and melancholy.

Years spent in peril fizzled out,

Mist and memories clogged around.

The wheel of fate had turned,

The being and time had curled.

He embraced her,

Gone was all cold and fever,

And then she was liberated, forever.
