Abstract Romance Tragedy

Boy Who Didn't Love Me Back!

Boy Who Didn't Love Me Back!

Making my way through the crowd, hitting a few legs; and climbing the station ladder...

Pestered through it all - I sat near a dosa corner - savoring some idli with translucent chutney.

There I saw him. "Why?" I asked to myself.

After these years of setting us apart.

Why is he here? My first crush! My first love.

The guy who didn't even acknowledge my feelings then; was now standing in front of me again, I tried not discerning my eyes on him.

A sudden glance and I waved, He forgetfully smiled.

This smile today didn't make me blush.

Now I looked at my plate, the chutney was over. I swallowed the half left idli in my hand, just like I swallowed my feelings all this time.

I paid the bill and left without looking back at his boyish gaze awaiting my sight.

An air of liberation caught me as I was there letting those unrequited feelings go.

Sometimes when things are over, you are supposed to leave.

Because a beautiful life waits ahead.

Maybe with a more beautiful person.
