Blast From The Past..

Blast From The Past..

This is a little musing I wrote from the time of my life when I was in my twenties. This is one time I would like to go back and live the lovely moments all over again.

Though today I am in a happy space mentally, I would like to go back to my twenties physically.

When I was in my prime, had lustrous hair and my skin would shine.

There were days earlier than this, where black and white TV and no fridge was no reason to crib, a treat of ice cream would be a dream.

Travelling by train was never a pain, be it scorching sun or pouring rain.

Cherishing the memories of visiting café Leopold, followed by a movie at Regal, but no more it is possible.

I earned my own money, was free to spend every penny, whether on a new dress, an adventure trip, or a road journey.

Keeping myself prim and trim, from top to toe, had time for daily walks and visits to the salons to shape the brow.

The morning was not greeted by pills for thyroid and epilepsy, it was always a healthy breakfast of paratha and sabzi.

Then It was a mom who kept my tiffin ready, but now it’s my turn to make the curry.

No reins of responsibilities holding me back, I was free-spirited, soaring like an eagle, with no need to keep time tracking.

My weight was less than half, there was such a spring in my walk, I miss those heels which enhanced my look, with so much confidence did I talk.

Some of the best friends I made, also met my soul mate everything in life changed, soon we got engaged.

The twenties it is for me, the time in which I would like to be, a life full of fun and frolic, no time for small talk and gossip.

Would keep everything the same except one thing I would like to change, my near-fatal fall and I lost my taste and smell. I wish that would not have happened at all, I would still be able to smell.

Those were the days…we would tell our children, but do you think they would understand.
