Black Beauty, White Devil

Black Beauty, White Devil

Sittin’ on the side of the city street,

Watching traffic pass us by,

Had dinner about an hour ago,

Then got a little high.

Been with this woman over 18 years,

In each other we still revel,

Not many call us by our names,

But most of them know Black Beauty,

White Devil.

Sun sits on us as walk along,

In no hurry, what’s the point?

Walkin’, talkin’ about good ol’ days,

As we pass another joint.

No reasons left for us to argue now,

So voices never rise in level,

Just hanging out to enjoy the ride,

Singing the song of Black Beauty,

White Devil

Back at the house, the stereo on,

First, a little jazz, then a little metal,

We laugh, we dance, we make sweet love,

So goes the life of Black Beauty,

White Devil.
