Be a Voice

Influenced we are from the day of our birth,

There is none superior being than us, none in true sense of worth.

The others are only there for us to use,

Howsoever beneficial, be it by care or by abuse.

Research conducted in laboratories, causing them pain,

New born puppies and kittens drowning in the rain.

Caged, often beaten for entertaining in circus,

Choked up with tears, left alone to die like rotten carcass.

They go through so much but never do they complain,

This gives us no right to treat them with disdain.

They are the innocent beings, they barely have a choice,

They too have feelings, they ain't no toys.

Each day we come across articles about horrors imposed upon them,

Ending up playing the blame game, we are quick to condemn.

We pretend that we care for them, but do we really practice what we preach,

Take one step forward so that you widen your reach.

Animals too have a life of their own,

Neither let them weep, nor let them moan.

You will surely see, how the world would smile and rejoice,

Stand up for them, and if not more, just raise your voice.
