As Time Passes By
As Time Passes By
There was a time when Marriage-Motherhood-Family stood as obstacles for a woman,
When the weather for ladies in India was not always tropical,
She took them as opportunities as she observed spiral of silence,
She was, held back by the tentacles of society, which in every way was to her, a tyrant,
She was not allowed to be the free bird that she possessed the right to being,
No one stood by to give her the wings that could help her in fleeing,
Has this evil been buried or do women still fill stuck in the pit?
I wonder why can’t her partner, after marriage, support and encourage her aspirations and comfortable do his bit..
Is the child just her responsibility, and not he male counterpart’s?
Living in one and leading a family is surely an intense art,
Why should only women custodians of these cultural elements?
It’s high time that men be awakened and enlightened about their obligations as well,
And imagine how stupendous would the world be hence,
A utopia in itself, one where there is no pretense.
