An Unearthly Hour
An Unearthly Hour
Thunder, lightning, chill...
The night tossed and turned,
When all was quiet within.
Violently flaying their arms,
The trees took the brunt.
The stray animals shuddered,
Little birds shivered.
The gale raged nightlong.
Then suddenly it stopped.
From the dark side of the moon
The shadows descended.
It was the darkest hour of the night
And all was quiet.
With stealthy steps
Dawn warily tip-toed in,
Fearing to face the wrath of the world.
The night had wreaked havoc,
Day would bear the brunt.
But for now it was just the two of them.
An eerie still morn
And the weary nightwatchman.
