Always Changing

Always Changing

Sometimes I missed her.

The girl I used to be.

Maybe it’s somewhere she’s been,

Maybe it’s something in the water.

Something had changed me,

I wasn’t the same girl,

The girl I used to be.

My hair was longer, my baggage heavier.

I was tougher, I was stronger,

I loved harder, I went farther.

I’m not the same girl I was a year ago.

I’m not the same girl I was yesterday,

But I’m not running anymore.

I don’t know when I grew up,

Maybe I never actually did.

Maybe I did change, maybe a little, maybe a lot.

Some things will always stay the same.

But that will be not me.
