Acceptance

Acceptance

She was standing all alone on a crowded road,

Finding that one hand to hold,

Who wouldn’t judge her, just accept her the way she is,

He would be hers and she would be his.

“Endure this pain, you are a man after-all!”

Repeatedly he had been told this line.

“Guys don’t cry…”

He had heard this statement several times.

"But they are emotions, how can they be controlled?"

He always used to wonder.

Yes I am a man,

But I am empathetic and sensitive, Is that a blunder?

“What! You’re thirty and still not married?”

She was fed up of these taunts,

Just because she refused to give,

Into the groom’s never-ending wants.

She was perfectly happy,

Living her own life.

Then why did everyone wanted to,

Make her someone’s WIFE!

Husband doing housework!

That’s absurd!

“Maybe he is incompetent!”

That’s the word.

His banks accounts were indeed dearth,

But his wife knew her beloved man’s worth.

We all are conditioned to think,

To function in a peculiar way.

Eat like this, walk like that!

Don’t talk with him, he is gay!

Just because someone is different,

Doesn’t make them wrong.

They may have much more strength then us,

In their own way, they are strong!

We must acknowledge all the people for who they are.

Only then acceptance of our true selves won’t be that far.
