A Village Maiden
A Village Maiden
As the sun heralded a new day with a blissful morn
It's first ray gently glided through the corn...
The tender tweets jolted her out of the trance!!
With the morning fair jealous of her glance
An earthen pot balanced on her slender curves...
She goes through the snaky lanes amidst cooing doves.
The blue lake waters adorned with golden frills--
The musical strings fill the air with pure trills..
Treading her way through the cobbled stone steps
Around her fair feet were those clinking silver anklets....
A brightly hued attire draped her splendid form
Under the bright sun above, her glowing skin turns warm.
She moves to the fields with a bevy of her friends.
The golden harvest off there-- she rests against the fence
Toil's blush on her face seems redder than the evening sun
Yet those enchanting gossips for her was immense fun!
As the sun kissed the horizon in it's westward journey --
The sheep herded near the pen -- whilst the agile lambs ran in glee!!
The chirping flocks graze the azure in their homeward flight
Down under the tender hands aid the firewood light.
Gently smiles the serene queen of the night sky!
As the jovially hectic day passes by...
The pious heart in the temple of labour
Breathes fresh as Amen her lips utter.
Here breaks the dawn of her new dream!
Sanctified by the stars, pure to the brim.
