A Silent Prayer
A Silent Prayer
I opened my eyes to meet:
The sun laughing at me.
Perhaps it was mocking at me that while I slept,
I lost another day of my life.
I looked around and saw everything was making fun of me;
A new bud was blooming,
A new leaf enfolding,
A new drop of dew on the young petals.
It seemed as if someone had taken the pain to wash the earth with crystal-dew.
I shut my eyes and prayed silently;-
For a new joy,
A new faith,
A new friend- with whom to share every drop of my smiles and to snatch away her pearl-tears;
Never to let her eyes be wet with sadness again
