A Shepherd's Dream
A Shepherd's Dream
The shepherd roamed the fields all day,
With cattle close beside him lay.
His dreams took him to distant lands,
With wealth and power in his hands.
His thoughts would wander, wild and free,
To great and grand adventures he would see.
He'd watch the city folk, all dressed so neatly,
With white-collar jobs, that promised life so sweet.
Yet every day, he'd see them rush,
With worry lines, stress and emotional gush.
They'd carry burdens too heavy to bear,
And the shepherd boy would stand with a stare.
The cattle moved with a mooing sound,
And led the shepherd back to solid ground.
Though his dreams were grand and bright,
He was content just living life like a kite.
The shepherd returned hungry
With cattle calm and tummies filled.
He returns home, ruminating about the day,
Having found the meaning of life.
No material wealth or riches untold
Could ever match the joy in his heart.
For he knew the secret of life's true treasure,
And in his soul, he'd found life's true pleasure.
