A Beggar’s Desire

He found a beggar

At the foot of Vaishno

Devi mountain, in spite of

Her opposition, after giving

Alms the beggar was asked,

“Have you ever been

Up to pray Vaishno Devi ?”

“No, I have never been”

“Why ?”

“Because I am punished

For my sins and made beggar”

“And still you pray, why ?”

“Hoping that Goddess would

Make me rich one day.”

“Would you go up after

You have become richer ?”

“Certainly !”

“How ? by walk

Or in palanquin ?”

“Of course in a palanquin
