Rabbits
Rabbits
Rabbits returning home at evening time,
I love watching this new found love of mine.
Digging burrows for a safe haven to live,
Burrowing bunkers here and there deep.
I often admire their fast running pace,
How did they lose in that turtle race?
Does overconfidence really suit them?
Or do fairy tales lie just the same?
I want to have rabbits as my pets one day.
But I like dad’s ideology in some way;
We don’t live among animals anytime soon,
They should be left in harmony too.
Carrots I buy every once a week,
Go near the forest and rabbits I seek.
They wait for me with eager eyes,
Wait for their little orange surprise!
Bugs bunny cartoon I recollect from past,
My favorite till day in memory it lasts.
The year is 1942, war is an inevitable future.
But there are things to learn from nature.
