Knocked Down

When I first began my journey through the dark,

I never imagined it would be so scary and stark

Every time I stepped on a difficulty,

I heard evil chuckles from negativity

Yet, with a heavy heart and wounds that bled

Left with no choice, I forged ahead

This time with steps more stable

But again, I stumbled into trouble!

Strange as it may be

I'd gathered the courage within me

To wipe away my tears

And triumph over my fears

Fearless, I travel through the dark

Of my struggles, I bear a mark.

Whether or not I reach my goal

I shall be thankful for the darkness, to have strengthened my soul.
