Unhinge Chapter

Today was an emotional ride. There are so many thoughts racing through my mind as I write this. I am so exhausted cause I had to rise at 2 in the morning to my frantic parents telling me that we had to go to the airport.

I almost forgot while I was dreaming in my fantasy world, we were moving to India from Pennsylvania. It is a small city in the United States. I gradually realized that it was 2 o’clock and I had to rush to the airport, I scurried and packed the last of things. Thankfully I was done packing in time and had a moment of relief. 

It took us a while to reach the airport as it is quite far away from where we lived. It took even longer to get through the bag check-in, it turns out that a lot of people wanted to fly to India. By the time we made it to the security check, it was around 4 o’clock and our flight was going to start at 5:30. While finding our way around the airport, I wasn’t sure how to feel.

Was I supposed to be happy about meeting my relatives or sad about leaving a wonderful place that I loved? I felt it would be awkward to meet my family and friends after a long time and what if I don’t recognize them. To add to that my stomach was knotted as I was going abroad after an eternity. I had so many negative and positive thoughts. I felt ambivalent.

I was in a state of confusion throughout the entire protracted flight. But when we reached India, I had realized that this would be a new phase in my life which would be full of twists, turns, and excitement. Now that I am here, I am able to apprehend that, that flight was one of the most magical moments of life.
