TheThree sisters and a sparrow
TheThree sisters and a sparrow
In a village, there were three children, an elder girl named Malliga, and her sister is Mullai and the last sister is Roja.
Three sisters were walking in a field and one small sparrow came flying and sat on Malliga’s head and told, Malliga, Malliga there is a function in the temple by next month, so could you please sing a song for the function. She said she will practice for it, and the sparrow (Kuruvi) sat on Mullai’s head and asked, will you also sing a song, she said yes.
The three sisters went home and informed their mother about the event that is going to take place in the nearby temple next week and need to sing a song for the event, their mother said please practice and perform.
The temple event(Thiruvizha) came and the three sisters were ready to participate, they dressed so well, wearing a skirt (Paavadai)and blouse and beautiful flowers on their heads, with bindi and all.
Mother said, do not go alone, take Shenbagha, he is staying in next door he can also sing, so all four children joined together to go for the event and their father was ready with the bullock cart and started to travel to the nearby temple.
The temple event started with offerings for god and goddess, Malliga started with Om, Vinayaka and forgot the lines…….so immediately Mullai started and finished singing the song on the praise of Lord Ganapathy.
Shenbagha also sang, Ganesha, Ganesha…….and all got the blessings from the almighty and returned to their cart.
Father asked are you all happy? They all said yes so, let’s go home, mother would have made some delicious food for all.
To his surprise, when they were halfway through the three children said appa, we missed one person, oh who is that …they said sparrow (kuruvi)….What? asked the father
Yes, where is she then, they immediately made an idea and Malliga, Mullai, Roja, Shenbagha started to sing a song and sparrow flew and came happily and found their cart and happily sat on the bullock, riding along with father and reached home.
Children’s were happy, Mother was surprised to see a new guest in their house and they all said we will have lunch together and made sparrow(Kuruvi) also to sit along with them. They all had rice, dal, potatoes, appalam, and sparrow (kuruvi) also enjoyed lunch with the children.
Then they all said to their parents that they don’t want to leave the sparrow to go because she might get lost by finding away and let the sparrow (Kuruvi) stay with us happily.
Both mother and father said yes and they all became good friends and stayed happily with the Sparrow (Kuruvi).
