The 'Unusual' Relationship

Slamming the door behind him, his gaze fell upon the chair in his room. There she was, on the chair, in exactly the same way as he had left her. Mere look of hers brought a smile on his face. He walked towards her. Picking her up, he embraced her with all affection. All the storms outside seemed to come to a halt as he stood there hugging her. In her, he found solace. 

He could not wait to share his day with her. After all, she was the keeper of all his thoughts, all his secrets. In all these years of people leaving and entering his life, she had always been with him. With her, he could be himself, no faking no pleasing, just the real him. In the days of loneliness, she had rendered him support. A patient listener, she understood every bit of his soul and took all his tears in herself. 

There would be times when the conversation would get so long that he would doze off in between and she would just sit there looking at him. Keeping all their memories intact in herself, she never betrayed him. Their bond had only grown stronger in these years as she saw his different sides, loving each one the same. 

With a plethora of emotions, he finally uttered, "I love you, my Diary!"
