The Savings On Slippers

Julia was walking down the street and was window shopping. She saw an amazing pair of slippers. She really wanted to get them, but...she didn't have enough pocket money. She went back home depressed, thinking about what to do. Then her face immediately lit up. She thought of doing her chores without being asked and helping anyone, then she might get extra money. When she reached home, her parents were really gloomy and had tears in their eyes.

She asked what had happened. They said that they had lost their job! Now she felt bad for her parents and for herself... her parents wouldn't give her an extra penny! She thought hard.."What to do, what to do?!" She went to her friend's house after school the next day.

Her friend advised her to find a way to steal her parents' money. But poor little Julia would never do such a thing. Later she had sight of the shoes again..they were on a discount!! But it was still too much for her to purchase... She couldn't help it..she stole their money.

Almost 3/4th of it!

The shoes were really expensive so she had to pay for all of the money she stole including her pocket money. Soon, her parents found out that she had stolen their money and grounded her for 5 weeks!!! Julia felt so crestfallen that she cried for the whole day. She really wanted to make it up for them so she snuck out that night and returned her slippers. The shopkeeper gave the money back and she put all her money in her parents' wallet.

Her parents found that too and decreased the grounded time to 3 weeks. She also said sorry a thousand times and it became 2 weeks.

After 2weeks was done, she helped her parents get a job someway or the other and she got her pocket money back. Her parents gave her extra money each time she helped and bought her a new pair of slippers...and guess what? They were the same ones!
