The flowers bloomed brightly in colours artists could only ever dream of. The happy blue sky cast a dull glow all around. On closer inspection, the glass petals were delicately woven together with loneliness but tried to hide it in their otherwise glittery nature. Fountains spewing out water or more like tears had a reddish tint lingering around. The hand laid bricked path pass the gold gate seemed inviting but offered a hint of banishment at the same time.

Gold seeped through the windows maybe even literally as it completed for dominance with the many unfulfilled dreams lazily floating in the air. Dust was a frequent visitor here and didn't shy away from making itself home on the several silk beds.

The marble floors that once had servants, maids, and friends scurrying about helping themselves to champagne and food fit for gods were now blanketed with dust. Portraits that once had happiness leaking out of it now had slashes, tears and what one can hope is just red paint gone astray.

Vases given by royalty that once stood proudly on expensive oak was now in pieces lying helplessly on the floor no different to the man lying upstairs in bed.

The body crinkled in pain and regret. Hair disheveled and tear stricken cheeks were now an everyday look with ruby eyes. Cars, ingots, and bags meant nothing now.

Piles of money stacked high around him unknowingly shielding himself away from love and good times. He was blinded with diamonds pouring out of bags and money lying in heaps. Until the walls were too high. Until sunlight was a stranger just like his friends or what were his friends.

The doorbell soon stopped ringing. The garden started growing astray only receiving water from the frequent rains. The paths leading to the house didn't support carriages and expensive shoes anymore. The gate had rusted itself shut. A cheque wouldn't help now, would it?
