The Reunion: Class Of 95

The noises in the resort were loud, people didn't care about the commotion and why would they. They were meeting after 20 long years. Some had stayed in touch, but most of them were meeting each other for the first time. 

The reunion was of the students of VNIT or Vallabh National Institute of Technology, located in the coastal town of VallabhNagar. 

Almost everyone from the class had arrived. They had come from different places and as far as the USA to attend the reunion. Amit Sharma (also known as Lambu) and his wife Garima were amongst the first to arrive. they both were in VNIT and had an on-and-off relationship during college. But after graduation, they got a job in the same IT firm and over a period decided to settle down. They were married for now 12 years and had a 6-year-old son.

Next to arrive was Srinivas Rao or as popularly known as Srini during their college days along with his college sweetheart and now wife Ritu. Nobody was surprised to see both of them together. They had a son and a daughter.

" Oh my god, look who has decided to grace us with his presence, it's the mighty avenger of the fourth year" shouted Amit when he saw Srini.

"I could see you from the airport lambuji" replied Srini.

They both laughed and hugged each other and caught up with their life. Amit has been successfully working in a company for 15 years. Srini on the other hand had worked for about a year in a company and then quit to form his company. Srini solutions are one of the largest companies in India. 

"Yaar, do you know where Machchar is?" inquired Srini

"No idea man. Last I heard he had settled in the USA," replied Amit

"Is he coming for the reunion?"

"Yeah, I asked the organisers. He had said that he was coming"

Soon the whole class had arrived. The organisers made their way to the stage and welcomed and thanked everyone for making the reunion a success. 

Old stories were shared and relived. Few laughs were shared at the expense of others. 

Suddenly the room grew quiet. All eyes were towards the door to see who had arrived. A loud cheer passed through the room on witnessing the person. The last person to arrive was Rohit Gupta also known as Machchar. What was surprising was to see Reshma alongside him.

Lambu, Srini, and Machchar hugged each other.

Everybody including Lambu and Srini was curious to know about this development. Everybody knew that Machchar had a massive crush on Reshma. But she was oblivious to his presence. 

Everybody settled down to have lunch, but the question on everybody's lips was to know the details of the love story of Rohit and Reshma.

Post lunch Rohit grabbed the mike and started talking,

"Good afternoon friends. I am sure everybody is having fun. I sure am having loads of fun. I am sure everybody wants to know how I and Reshma are together. Well, the story begins during the elections. As you all are aware of the stolen election. During the election, the opposing candidate was Rahul. He knew that it was going to be difficult to win the election. He was going to kidnap me and force me to withdraw my name from the election. I was surrounded by people and so was difficult to do so. Everybody knows about my crush on Reshma, So Rahul kidnapped her to put pressure on me. I told him it was too late to withdraw my name. He again threatened to hurt Reshma. I then gave him an idea which we all know by now. When Reshma realised what I had done for her, she fell in love with me. We got married a few years after college. So as you can see it was worth losing that election"
