GOD'S GIFT

Isha was a final year law student. Her younger sister Koki was studying in 12th std. Isha and Koki were loving sisters. They were more like close friends. They would share about their school, college experiences and secrets.

They were the daughters of a working couple, Mr. Sharma and Mrs. Rohini Sharma. Mr. Sharma was a renowned Psychiatrist and Mrs. Rohini was a Professor in a college. Mr. and Mrs. Sharma were so loving, kind and supporting couple.

Isha and Koki were good in academics. Their parents had given them training in martial arts. Because, in this scenario, girls must know how to protect themselves. Koki was a naughty girl and would be disturbing and teasing her sister always.

Both looked pretty. Isha was taller than Koki. They wore both traditional and modern. Once in a month, they would go for shopping and spend their time with their family.

Isha wanted to become a successful lawyer and do her Barrister at London. Koki wanted to be a playback singer. She had a beautiful voice that would mesmerize everybody. She had won many awards in singing competitions.

Both of them had passed their exams with distinction. Their home was filled with happiness. As a surprise to their daughters, the couple told them that they were going on a trip to North Eastern states to spend their summer vacation. The girls got so enthusiastic and started dreaming about their trip. They packed up all their things a week ago. They had a big list of the places to visit, ride and so on.

The day of the trip came. The girls were busy in loading their bags and suitcases in the car. They started their journey with enthusiasm. They had booked a room in a hotel which was near their favorite spot.

When they opened the window, there was a beautiful view of the forest. The girls had gone for horse riding, boating and shopping. Their parents had given them the freedom to go alone. The girls enjoyed all the places that they had gone. It was a memorable trip for them. They had a good time together and returned home after the vacation.

Isha had applied for her post graduation in London. She got the admission in London. And Koki got an admission in a reputed college in her city. Both of them were happy to get the admission in their favorite places.

This was the first time that Isha was leaving their family and going to abroad for her higher studies. She was getting ready to go to London. On the day of departure, her sister Koki felt very sad for leaving Isha behind. Her parents also worried. Isha went to London with the blessings of her parents.

Isha reached London safely and got a home. For a few weeks, she felt lonely and missed her family so much. Then, she got used to it. Even though Isha missed her sister, they would talk each other daily.

Years rolled on, Isha and Koki were in their final year. Both of them had written their exams well. Isha returned home with excitement. They were eagerly waiting for their results.

On the day of results, Isha and Koki were so tensed. Both of them passed with distinction.

The next day, it was Koki’s 21st birthday. The family had planned for a visit to an orphanage. They had a practice of celebrating their birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations in that orphanage. On Koki’s birthday, the whole family went to the orphanage home and spent their great time there.

The sisters were attached to the place very much. On seeing the unconditional love of those children, they got emotional. They returned home with a satisfied heart. Koki felt that it was a special birthday for her.

One day their parents called and revealed the secret that they were not their children. First, the girls thought that their mother was making fun of them. Then, their mom told that she was not joking. The girls were shocked to hear this.

The couple told them that they were childless for 5 years. So they wanted to adopt babies instead of undergoing fertility treatment. The girls had been adopted from the orphanage that they had visited.

On hearing the truth, the girls were astonished and felt heartbroken. Their eyes were filled with tears. The couple had never treated them differently. They were the loving couple and brought up the girls as their own daughters only. The girls bowed down on their parents’ feet.

Isha said, “We are so fortunate that we have got you as our parents. We are so grateful and thankful to you and God Almighty. You have never treated us as adopted children. We don’t know even if our biological parents will take care of us like you. Never….”

Koki and Isha ran, hugged, and told them, “We love you so much Mama and Papa. We will never leave you and take care of you with utmost care. WE LOVE YOU”.

Isha and Koki started loving their parents more than before.

Couple who are childless may adopt a child and lead a new life with them. Then there will not be any orphanages.

I’ve a question to those who give birth to a baby and abandon them in a dustbin or throwing them in a ditch or committing suicide with the kid.

“Didn’t you think about it earlier?”

“Don’t you have a heart?”

“How can you do so?”

“Did God give you any rights to kill an infant?”

Give a new life to those infants…
