Laxmi was not sure as to what she was doing here. One moment she was begging at the crossroad along with her friends and the next moment she was sitting outside the fancy office of a renowned lawyer. Laxmi didn't understand what the fuss was about. She was happy with her life on the streets. She cursed that dreadful day when she met that old lady in the temple.

Laxmi was a 10-year-old orphan. She did not remember her parents. For her, Anna was her everything. It was him who had bought her as an infant from the government hospital as she was an orphan. He had raised her for his own selfish interests. Anna ran a gang of orphan kids. He made the kids beg and also trained them to pickpockets.

On a fateful day, Laxmi was as usual on the roads begging along with Guddu and Sita. She went to a brand new car. The old lady was sitting in the back seat. She was on the phone when she saw Laxmi on the road. She immediately disconnected the phone and asked her secretary to inquire about the kid. The old lady was Rajmata Gayatri Devi, queen of Jaipur who was now settled in Mumbai. Gayatri Devi was reminded of her long lost daughter Kritika when she saw Laxmi on the road that day.

Kritika was loved by all in her house.

She was the only child of Gayatri Devi and Rana Singh. Her every wish was fulfilled. Kritika not only was beautiful but was also good at her studies, so when she got into medicine nobody was surprised. It was for the first time that Kritika would be staying alone without her family in Delhi. It was there that she met Gautam. Over the course of their studies, they both fell in love and decided to get married. Gayatri Devi and her husband were against the marriage of their daughter who was born in a royal family get married to a commoner. Kritika was unmoved and decided to elope to get married to Gautam. Rana Singh couldn't handle the shame it brought to the family and had a heart attack. A few years after that he died in his sleep. Gayatri Devi over the period of time repented her attitude towards her daughter and realised her mistake. She tried searching for her but couldn't find her.

Laxmi was the exact replica of Kritika when she was 10 years old.

Gayatri Devi was sitting in her office. In her hand was the folder of the details provided by the secretary about Laxmi.

What Gayatri Devi didn't know was that Kritika was pregnant when she left her home. Gautam's family didn't approve of the bride being pregnant without marriage. Gautam didn't have the guts to fight with his family. He abandoned Kritika. With nowhere to go Kritika started living in a chawl and started working in a government hospital. But unfortunately died during childbirth. A ward boy who was working and aware of the details sold Laxmi to Anna.

Gayatri Devi was appalled to read this. She didn't realise the hardships her daughter and granddaughter had to endure because of her ego. She immediately called up the commissioner and told him to rescue her granddaughter from the clutches of Anna.

Laxmi was soon called into the office and introduced to Gayatri Devi. Laxmi couldn't believe what she was hearing. She was reluctant to go with her. After some persuasion, she agreed to go with her.

Gayatri Devi soon arranged for the education of the girl. Laxmi just like her mother was smart and soon caught up with education.
