"Am I having a midlife crisis"?, She thought to herself while getting ready for work. "Is this what I really want to do? If not? Then what? '' With her head bombarding with these questions, she put her mind to stop going haywire. She tried so hard to make up her mind and go to work but deep down she knew she wouldn't fit in the crowd, she wouldn't fit in the 9 to 5 monotonous schedule. There she was at work, in a cubicle, in front of the computer screen, waiting for lunchtime. "Ah! What a relief, she thought to herself on seeing the time. It was time; time for her to run away from the computer screen into the real world.

Basking in the sun, she comes across this little girl running freely with a smile that she hadn't seen in a while. All she had seen were those fake smiles and laughter in the corporate world but the smile she saw on the little one's face was different. This made her think about freedom. "Am I bound to the chains of this corporate world"? "When did I lose myself"? "How do I come out of it"?.

While she was thinking about these things, this little girl came up to her, asking her if she could take a swing. She smiled at her, and let her sit on it. A day goes by and she couldn't stop thinking about her encounter with the little one. The next day they meet again, and this time she gives a pen and a booklet to the little one to write on. T

he joy they both received, one on receiving the gift and the other on imparting something into the life of that little one was indescribable. That's the day she found the meaning of life. The meaning of life in the little things, the little joys of life. That's when she thought to herself that life's too short to spend it on one's selfish desires. That's when she found the meaning of her life by imparting something into the life of that little one, sowing a seed one day at a time.

It's better to do for others what you want them to do for you, she thought to herself. The little one received knowledge, and she received freedom. The freedom to not give up, the freedom to keep going on with life, the freedom to smile at the face of adversity, the freedom to be okay even if things around her weren't okay, to continue to believe that the Lord was working even if it didn't make sense to her but most of all she got the freedom to rejoice in every circumstance, come what may! That's when she found the meaning of her life.
