Last night at the pyjama party we spoke about something really unusual after the giggles and peals of laughter. It started when one of my friend spoke of how her childhood was really pathetic due to being sexually abused. We all heard her terrific story that at the age of 5 when she was just learning the rhymes of how" jack and Jill went up the hill"and there came her innocence tumbling after. She said she was molested in every stage of her life as she grew up. Suddenly I could see every pair of eyes in my group trying to say their own sad past. That night all of the girls broke out about how they molested by the

• Vanvallahs and bus conductors who were supposed to drop us home serene and safe
• The Bhaiya who came from the country side to study and harrased her when she was alone .
• The desperate unmarried neighbour who used to kiss her everywhere.
• The male tuition teacher who couldn't balance his hormonal equations .
• Some tau Ji and Dada ji's were also giving this special ashirwaads to the beti.

It was shocking that out of all 10 of my friends 9 of them were harrased by some way or the other.

The society knows to take the red bedsheet test on suhaagraats but what about the test for the intruders who had defiled our body right under the nose of our parents .

What happens when our guardians think of them to be angels but they are the real devils? In disguise of saviors they are the real faith shakers.

You make her wear a salwar since childhood but, were you there when she was being molested by her uncle?

I really wish that we had the courage in us to go and speak to you about what we had gone through. Talk freely on this topic break the huge ceramic wall between you and your daughter. Punish them even if it is your relative or your siblings. Please don't keep quiet.

There are so many honour killing cases where a girl is killed if she loves someone or had sexual intercourse before marriage... but at least she had her consent! Did you ever see a khaap punishing a person who sexually exploited a girl? Why is there a double standard in everything?

She likes it when it is said by a Doctor and not an Uncle .

The story of her won't get over the moment she's out, we have vultures waiting for their new prey eagerly .

Every time you harass a girl you harras her  confidence and her capacity to trust men.

I really wish there comes a change and the next times when my daughters sit for a pyjama party at least they don't talk about being abused but being loved consensually.
