"I have decided, I will pursue my MBBS PG program in China," remarked Wang Bao. Wang Bao was a doctor who was from China, but born and brought up in India. His parents were Wang Wei(father) and Wang fang(mother). They got settled and took the permanant citizenship of India after their parents moved to India due to some unfavorable situation prevailed in China after Indo-China war of 1962. Since then non of them visited china again.

Wang Bao was their only son, who had completed his MBBS degree in Delhi AIIMS one year back. He was a very talented student and all time topper of his college. He and his parents were very fluent in both English and Hindi language. His father had a business of consumer electronic goods supply in India. They were staying in Kolkata in their own house. Wang Bao was also staying with them after the completion of his MBBS degree. He had attempted many PG entrance exams for the medical colleges of India and other countries as well. He got all of them cleared with good ranks. He got an opportunity in one of the top most medical college of China in Peking union medical college. He was very much excited about this opportunity and wanted to visit China atleast once in a lifetime. But his parents were against his decision.

They don't want to send their only son to such a far place. "But Bao, why do you wanted to go to China when there are so many medical colleges for you in India," replied the father to Bao's remark. "After coming to India, your grandparents never wanted to go back to China. They wanted all of us to stay here only," said the father. "I understand dad, but the medical colleges of China are very well equipped with electronic instruments which are very much necessary for the treatment of the patients. I will learn many things there and later I can utilise the new techniques in Indian hospitals as well if I get a chance to practice in India later in my lifetime. After all China is our native place, we don't have to worry about getting settled there if needed", explained the son. The father had no choice but had to agree to his son's decision. He is a grown up guy now and can take his career decisions by his own.

With full fledged support from the family, Bao started doing arrangements for his journey to Beijing. His visa, passport, tickets and other documents got ready within three weeks. His parents helped him to pack his belongings. Her mother was very emotional at the time of the boarding of flight. "We don't want to send you to the country which we had left long back, but we feel proud that you valued your native place very much. Our best wishes are with you always," encouraged the mother. Bao got very much satisfied and happy with his mother's kind words. He thanked and hugged his parents and left for his flight.

After reaching Beijing, Bao informed his parents. Beijing is the most populous city located in northern China. It is governed as a municipality, under the direct administration of central government. It was a hot and humid weather, so Bao was not much comfortable to roam around the city. He got freshened up inside the airport itself. He took a cab and headed towards the medical college directly from the Beijing airport. Since, it was one of the top rated medical college, there was a huge crowd waiting for the admission procedure. The Peking University has a curriculum of total eight years which include two and half years of pre-medical education in the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University. The students have their pre-med studies at Tsinghua University and are considered as students of both PUMC and Tsinghua University. The college also has its independent Graduate School, which recruits from other medical schools around the country. Hence Bao was recruited for the graduate program. Finally Bao's turn came for the admission and all the procedures completed successfully. Bao also got his hostel allotment on the same day.

Days passed very quickly, Wang Bao successfully completed his three years of PG program. He made new friends over there. He was almost settled in that strange country and would communicate to his parents every day. The only problem with the place was, he didn't liked the food and he lost his weight. He managed to visit India after a long time to meet his parents. But his parents were again sad to know that he will continue his practice as a doctor in China only and will settle there. "But mom dad! Why are you getting worried? I will take you both with me. We will settle down in our own country," reacted the son. "No son, we have left China long back. Now India is everything for us. This land has given so many things to us, we can't leave this place and do not want you to leave this place as well," replied the emotional father.

After hearing father's decision, Bao left the place to give a second thought before coming to any conclusion. But still he couldn't change his mind. "Dad, I have decided to go to China and serve the people over there, I won't force you to come with me", Bao cleared his father regarding his decision. Now there was no point in further arguments."Okay son, if this is your final decision, then we won't stop you. Anyways our best wishes are with you always. But please do visit us at your convenience," said the emotional father. After one week, Bao started packing his luggages. His mother also prepared some delicious dry foods for him. It was the time for Bao to leave for Beijing. Bao's parents went to see off him at the airport. Within few moments, his flight took off.

Two years passed, since Bao left India. It was the month of December in the year 2019, there was an outbreak of an epidemic called Coronavirus epidemic. The first case was found in Wuhan in China. Bao was pursuing his career as a pulmonologist. Bao would sometimes visit Wuchang hospital in Wuhan for some training and awareness programs in early days. Within one month of Coronavirus outbreak, more than 1000 lost their lives in China. Bao also had developed some symptoms like cough and fever at the same time. As a pulmonologist, he had came in contact with many coronavirus patients. So being a doctor he thought of taking a test for Coronavirus also known as Covid-19. When his fever didn't cure, he was admitted to the isolation ward of one of the hospitals of Beijing. The next day, the most awaited medical report for the test came.

Unfortunately the test for Covid-19 came positive for Bao. His parents were informed about his health condition. They worried a lot for their son. The father broke down in front of the mother, "I have told him several times, not to go to China. But he didn't listened to me. Now we can't even meet him also." The mother replied with tear in her eyes, "Don't worry nothing will happen to our son. He took care of so many patients and cured them as well. Their good wishes are with him." They wanted to visit China but they were not allowed by the government to do so, as the disease was spreading like a wildfire. Bao's condition was getting worse day by day. His fever was not getting down and the platelet count was decreasing. All his colleagues who came in contact with him were deeply under observations. Few of them showed symptoms of Covid-19. They were shifted to isolation wards and their samples were collected for the Covid-19 test. Some of them got discharged from the hospitals.

After one month of struggle, Bao took his last breath on 15th of February 2020. His last message on WhatsApp to his parents read as, "Sorry dad and mom, despite having your several refuses, I came to China. Despite of knowing about the corona epidemic, I couldn't keep myself away from the patients. As a doctor I took all risks and served them with the best possible treatments. But my fate has written something else for me. May be I was punished for leaving you against your will. Promise me that you will forgive me, if something happens to me." The parents got shattered after getting the news of the death of their only son. They completely broke down after reading the last message of their son. The loss was really unbearable for them. They could neither able to see their son's body nor could get a chance to perform the last rites of their son due to the chances of spread of the disease all around.
