The story begins with my grandfather who used to be a police officer. He was always busy and could never give time to my grandma and my father. My father, Aniket loved my grandpa a lot but could never express his love towards him, as whenever he would go near him, my busy grandpa would yell at him and say," Aniket! Don't you know that I am doing my work? Please don't disturb me." Whenever my grandfather scolded my father Aniket, he would cry bitterly and sleep on the sofa besides my grandfather.

My grandma told me that whenever she saw my dad crying because of getting scolded by grandpa, she used to ask him whether Aniket was more important to him or his work. She also told me that whenever she said this to him, he would become unhappy and go near my dad and kiss him and say," I know that I am unable to give time to you, Aniket, but I do this only for your good. I work hard to earn more money so that you can live happily." My grandma added, your grandpa thought that your dad hated him.

Unfortunately, I never saw my grandfather because he passed away before I was born. When my grandfather died, my dad was shocked so much that he resigned from his job and talked to my grandpa's photos the whole day. After six to seven months he started with his new job and everything became normal in our life.

One day, which started like an ordinary one, I got up late as usual. Accidentally, I brushed my teeth with the shampoo, washed my hair with the Ayurvedic toothpaste, wore socks on my hands, and wore my shirt around the waist in hurry. When my mother saw my horror state, she started correcting me and did so about in five minutes. I was now ready for school. I went to the school, played, studied and talked. When I finally reached home, I saw my father leaving and he told me that he would come before eight. After saying he left.

I jumped on the sofa, turned on the air conditioner, and switched on the television. While I was enjoying the cartoon, the landline rang ring.... ring.... I answered the call, it said, " Hello, I am standing right outside your house and I want to enter in." First, I thought why didn't he use the bell but then without having a second thought, I opened the door. What I saw next was horrible.

An old man on two crutches came inside my house who had a pale look on his face, flies were flying around his face and his face had some patches of mud. His big eyes stared at me.

"Ahhhhhh.... do you want to meet my father? Let me tell you that currently, he is not at home. The old man replied "Aniket... Aniket... where are you? Let us spend some time together." He had just finished eating when he started crying. I could not see him cry as I am a kind-hearted person and asked him to come inside my house and told him to take a bath as he was really stinking. He did as I said and the ugly man changed into a handsome, but old man.

He thanked me for my help and cooked food for me. He played with me, watched T.V and played with me. While he was coming back from the washroom he accidentally crashed with my family photo. The glass shattered, but the important thing, which was the photo was still there. When I went near the photo, the old man pleaded me to forgive him and tried to hide the photo. I did not feel anything strange so I took the shattered pieces and placed them on the table near the gate.

Finally, when we had done everything we could do, I started to tell the old man, my grandfather's story and told him how much my dad loved him. I did not understand why, but the man started to cry and gave me an old, dusty toy. He asked me where was my father and I told him he would be back in fifteen minutes, for it was already seven forty-five in the clock.

He told me that now he had to go, for my dad was going to come. He blessed me and told me to tell my father, Aniket my grandpa loved him a lot. While going back, he became happy again and said, " Goodbye! Hope we would meet again!" But as he went, I saw his last drop of tear fall on the shattered pieces of glass that I placed on the table. They all joined together and the man went, without looking back again.

My father came and said, "Hello! What a day it was! My project got successful!" Then he saw me holding the photo frame. My legs were trembling. I accidentally dropped the photo frame but this time it didn't break. The man who had come was no one else but my own grandfather! My father asked me what was the matter, but I did not say anything and just handed him the old, dusty toy.

My father said, "This was the only toy that I wanted, but I purchased it from my pocket money and gifted it to my father." He asked me from where did I get it and suddenly found a chit stuck to it. It said, " thanks, my boy! On my birthday, it was gifted by you, and now I return it to you as a return gift."

Feeling even more scared, I told my father everything that had happened. My father told, "Surely, it was my dead father." Then I said, he also said to me that he told me that he loved you very much but could not spend enough time with him as death called him a bit early. At last, he told me to tell you to always spend time with me.

My father smiled and I could see his happiest tear coming out and it fell on the frame. He hugged the frame and toy and shouted, "Thank you, Dad!"

He then stocked the photo frame in our car and then we carried on our happy life. At last, I would like to tell all my readers that the call on the landline was not an ordinary one, it came from the heaven, as my grandfather, who came to my house, had no phone with him!
