That Laugh

In the morning, the nature is at its best. The orange sun peeked from the city's highest building. In her bedroom the window is east faced, sun has spreading its golden petal in her room. The room was quiet and cold. There are three empty coffee cups on the table, the laptop is in sleep mode. Winston (her puppy) also sleeping on the carpet. The window was open, it is welcoming the gentle breeze. The wind is turning the pages in the notepad. She is still not awaken. She was working late nights and early morning, even the weekends and holidays. She is a project leader in the fastest growing software company in the city.  

It was a financial year ending in India. She needs to check audit and she needs to find a new projects for the upcoming financial year, so she and her team working on late nights to finish their presentation slides and POC's. They all work from home so dates and times are not even registered in their memory. Her alarm wakes her up with its birds singing ringtone at 9.00'o clock. Her offshore meeting at 9.30,she tired to open her eyes. She feels fresh in her room, she asked, 'Mom, coffee please ". Her mom replied fresh up first. She gets freshened up and took a coffee table went to the laptop.

Her laptop calendar wished her April fools day. It's reminds her unforgettable day in her life. She was frozen with her memory, her heart felt heavy.

It was the same April first day, she was doing her college final year. Final year project submission are going, so she was busy with her project preparation in the lab. Her classmates are planned to fool her on fools day. They know she is not easy to fool, so they planned big. There are few classmates are from her colony. So they used that, three of her friends went to her seriously said her dad was met with an accident. One of their dad bring him to the hospital. He was in ICU ward. They stopped that there.

She was totally heartbroken, she believed it because they are know from her childhood and close to her family. They are friends too. So they know that how much she sharing the bond with her dad and family. So they played with her emotions. In the minutes, she can't even know what to do, her eyes were full of tears. She broke down in the chair. Every one speaking around nothing heard in her ears. Finally, they shouted April Fool and they laughed. It took time to realize she was pranked by her friends. It's made her emotionally angry with them. She stands up and shouted them.

Her meeting reminder taken her from that bad memory. She finished her meeting. She wrote something in the paper, put it in a cover. She dressed and went to the neighborhood. There was a poor family, all are working for daily wage because of covid lockdown family was having their bad time. So she planned to give some money. She went there and she gives the cover with money. Initially they that it was an empty cover, she was trying to fool them for April fools day. So they refused to bring it. They said it is April fools day Right! She felt really bad for them, she thought maybe someone fooled them in this way, that's why they are refusing this. So she forcefully gives that cover to the child and open it. That child opened the cover it was filled with money and there was a one note.

The child reads that note in his sweet voice, "it's the day to make people laugh and happy who are around them".

The family is pleased for her. She saw that their eyes are shining because of their happiness. They thanked her with big smile and the man said , he and his wife, both are doing daily wage work, because of Covid we didn't get any work, for the past one week we are eating barely, my child is crying. We can't even buy a milk for him. It's means lot to us.

She gets blessing from them. And walk towards her house. It was an awesome feeling making people happy and seeing them smile. Isn't it?
