That Hand That Mocked
That Hand That Mocked
In a desert of snow, a man with armour-plated in gold and a helmet that covered his face strode to the behemoth wreck of a tomb. The man's helmet was topped with a crown lined in Orange rubies. Two unbounded legs of the structure stood on either side of the stairs. The steps led to a doorway with a tablet on the left side that reads:
“I have conquered the kingdom of gods, and I have come to conquer men, I am Mandias!”
The man dragged his fingers across the words, he looked to the shattered moon in the sky.
“My name is Zizun, king of our world.”
Inside the door awaits a robot, its face lay expressionless.
“Master!” It said
“Thank you for meeting me here.”
“Anything to please you! I am at your utmost command.”
They walked through the tomb, the walls had patterns that looked ancient. Crumbles of these symbols lay on the floor.
“These mean something,” said the robot
“What do they mean ?”
“It says, ‘A man from the otherworlds, with shattered wings and horns that dug into his face, walked to what one day will Konsut, slowly. He rose the world from the ashes of my times, I was feared by all mortal beings. I built all of society from nothingness. Or, that I made nothing. The ones who defied me would be on their knees, crying for mercy just as the rest of my kind did.’”
“My great-great-great-grandfather,” Zizun coughed, “conquered Mandias, along with Ozisi.”
“And now they're your enemy?”
“They broke trading laws.”
“Doing this you will break freedom of religion laws. Am I wrong?”
The halls fell silent as they approached the room of burial. A lectern stood in front of the sarcophagus. The robot walked up to the lectern and put a book down. Zizun opened the book to the first page.
“I grant you this flesh.” he picked up a rat. And a dagger from his sheath. The rat's blood dripped onto Mandias’s grave. “God of gods, may you rise.”
Mandias rose from his sarcophagus. He had long hair, his back facing Zizun and the robot.
“I presume you remember your brother Ozisi?” Zizun asked
Mandias turned his head and opened his mouth with a demented laugh.
3 months later
Ozisi’s dead body lay in an open casket at the gates of Konsut temple. Overlooking the funeral, the leader of weapons trading, Binan, sat next to crime syndicate leaders.
“This better not affect our trade.” said one of the leaders
“It won't. I assure you.”
The priest who stood at the entrance started speaking and the crowd fell silent, “Ozisi taught us that you don't have to be a god to be strong, you must be intelligent. His powers granted us all we needed to thrive and more. He was a great friend to all of those who followed him.”
Binan spoke to the leaders more, “This will end up in political unrest, putting your companies in more danger.”
Sankariasa, a syndicate leader, drooped into his chair like a slug, “So why should we stay as an associate with you?”
Binin did not think of this, “Only ones who do, will have access to our weapons in exchange with your money.”
“We will keep our deal then.”
The casket passes through the gates and across the bridge. The priest spoke again, “Ozisi’s most trusted advisor, besides me,” Binin rolled his eyes “Binin, will be the new head of Kunsut.”
“Huh.” Binin sighed
Sankariasa laughed, “You should be more excited about this new role.”
“I thought I would. But I guess not.”
The next morning the Zizun and the Count of Fetnie County, walked upon the bridge to Kunsut temple. Binin met them at the midway point, with an army behind him.
“You called for our presence? Binin said.
Zizun took a step forward. “The assassination of Ozisi was necessary for our safety.”
“No one is strong enough to kill him unless they were a god.”
“Oh, but they can, even powerless ones.”
Binin stumbled back. “You are saying Mandias is alive?”
Zizun chuckled, “I will give you five days to surrender, let me into your temple, and cut trade with the Syndicate. Otherwise, your temple will crumble.”
Binin tilted his head, “Your disunion is interesting.” He was trying to stay calm.
Zizun and his crew left.
The sulfur plains reached far, dug deep in a mt. Tilaciew, a valt rested. In it sat a woman, named Pekie, in raven-like attire including a mask with a beak. Around her were 15 guards dressed in similar clothing, with old rusted spears. All of them sat on pillows, eating dumpling soup, in a circle. The large door to the room opened.
Army men with large guns walked in. Behind them, Binin came in, his steps were long and proud.
“Ah yes, a princess banished to the mining district,” Binin said
“I heard of Ozisi,” she interrupted by her eating. “I presume it was my brother?”
“Yes.”
“Why have you come?
“We could use a genius like you to be part of our alliance, and we could re-insert your blood to the monarchy.”
“Count me in.”
Pekie
Pekie, her guards, and the syndicate army stood at the bottom of a massive mine. The syndicate slave miners were evacuated already. They heard the screams of elmeakie-beasts. The ground rumbled.
“A sampid is coming,” Pekie announced.
The elmeakie-beasts got to the edge of the mine. they had round heads with no eyes, mouth, or nose. They were about ten feet long, their bodies were as expressionless as their heads. 6 arms sprouted from where they walked on.
The beasts trampled the army. Waves upon waves cast themselves on the men.
They were reduced to about half of the original quantity. Their dead bodies were crushed by the In a desert of snow, a man with armour-plated in gold and a helmet that covered his face strode to the behemoth wreck of a tomb. The man's helmet was topped with a crown lined in Orange rubies. Two unbounded legs of the structure stood on either side of the stairs. Binin
Binin flew around the capital in a jetpack. He knew Zizun had something big planned for his attack on Konsut. The only thing that had all monarchy data was the robot. He landed in an alleyway.
“Are you Silrea?” He asked a figure.
“Yes, I have planted the bomb, it is set to go off at midnight. No one should be hurt.” Said the figure.
“And will this work for sure?”
“I assure you.”
Binin flew up and hovered about a hundred feet from the ground. Time crept closer to one a-clock.
The bomb went off in the footsteps of the palace. This was his cue. He flew between a window and intimately drew his pistols and killed a few guards. He ran down the halls until he made it to the science room.
A control centre surrounded a glass tube containing the robot. The scientists held their hands up.
Binin pointed the guns around “Make this thing be more mobile!”
- They pressed some buttons and the robot folded into a cube and the tube opened up. Binin took the robot and flew out.
A moment later, he came across fifteen palace guards and what looked like an eleven-year-old boy. Binin snuck past them. He didn’t think much of it. Until he heard what they were saying:
“There is a security breach, we must bring the prince to the vault.”
Prince? Zizun has a son?
Binin turned around and ran at the boy. He took his back and held the gun to his head.
The guards surrounded him, “What are your demands?” Asked one of them.
The prince started sobbing.
“My peoples’ children have been tortured by you. It’s time you pay.” Binin gagged on his own words.
The prince cried more “What are you going to do to me?”
Binin pulled the trigger. The boy's blood splattered on the wall and all over Binin. He himself started crying and flew out another window.
He has just killed a child, a child who was crying for mercy.
Mandias
Zizun and Mandias were escorted through the halls of the syndicate building for a diplomatic meeting.
At the end of the hall was a big green door with golden symbols. They opened the doors and there sat the seven syndicate leaders. And in the middle was Sankariasa.
“I understand why you killed Ozisi,” Sankariasa chuckled “we would too. However, we won’t take bribes.”
“We are not here to bribe you.” Zizun smiled under his mask and nodded at Mandias.
Mandias pulled an axe out of seemingly nowhere and but the handle against the farthest-left sitting leader's neck.
“We are launching an attack on your mines.” Zizun was so calm as a man was being choked to death.
“Dammit! Call Pekie” said one.
The leaders ran out of the room around the time one choked to death. Mandias ran after them.
4 ran straight down the hallway and 2 turned. Mandias turned and threw the ax at one of their heads. Down to 5. The other that turned tripped. Mandias pulled the ace out of the head and slammed it against the other one's shins.
“I won’t make this quick.” Mandias left the man and ran to the others.
He saw an employee, killed him and took his uniform. He kept running. In a plumbing room the others were climbing up a ladder to vents.
Dressed up as an employee, Mandias said: “I am here to escort you. Go in front of me.”
As they walked through the vents Mandias used his axe to break a pipe and fill up the vents with deadly gas. Sankariasa had a mask in his robes to protect himself. With the fog he escaped Mandias clutches.
None else survived.
A missile hit the survivors. Kingdom troops ran into the mine, opening fire.
Pekie yelled, “Fallback to the high ground!”
As they ran up to the high ground they were picked off one by one. It went from half to a quarter, quarter to an eighth.
The mine was lost.
Colossal wreck
A massive pilon sprouted nearby the Kunsut temple. This made it so none who was not fighting for the monarchy could not use weapons.
Pekie, Binin, and Sankariasa sat in the highest point of the temple.
“I saw on the news, Binin, what happened to that kid.”
“It had to be done.” Binin tried not to make eye contact.
“You killed a child.”
“We must set aside our differences for the upcoming battle.”
A flying ship loomed over the temple.
Zizun stood at the base of the pilon. Not only to defend it, but to kill Binin, Pekie, and Sankariasa.
All of them (including the robot) came flying with some sort of gravity cannon.
Zizun took his daggers and slashed at Pekie. She blocked and stabbed back. Binin shot at him from afar. The robot got to work disabling the pilon.
Pekie’s guards showed up and two pointed their spears around Zizun. He crouched and the guards accidentally stabbed each other.
Zizun ran at Binin, he tried using his key back to escape but Zizun grabbed his ankle and cut his stomach. Next, he went after Pekie, but before he could reach her, Zizun felt a hand on the back of his head.
He knew who it was. Mandias. He whispered in Zizun’s ear “ You have forgotten your place in the universe.”
Zizun turned around and put his dagger to Mandias’s throat. Pekie and Sankariasa stayed still.
“We both know that you won’t kill me.”
Sankariasa, Pekie, and her guards were pulled by the gravity cannon back to the temple.
Zizun kneeled to Mandias and gave his crown to Him.
“Finally, the rightful king is back in his place.”
