They were opposites but the oppositeness of the characters helped to make strong bondage between them. Though the traits of Jeet and Smita belonged to the north and south poles, instead of strong hatred or dislike, it helped to build a strong attraction towards each other.

As the ice melts in the warmth of the fire, Smita's coldness would melt in the warm company of Jeet. Soon the attraction turned into an everlasting bond of love. Smita is no more, but she is alive in Jeet's verses.
