Soldier

Mount of strength, a bond beyond the worldly strides, thou art my pride, whispers the sister, tying the rakhi on the wrist of her brother. Hugging his sister, garnering good and auspicious wishes, the soldier marches for the mission to serve the motherland. 

With a teary, but stout eyes, she bids him adieu, taking a promise that at any cost he would come on next Raksha Bandhan. 

Looking at the watch, he boards the train to make the independence day a red-letter day. 

Reaching destiny and trysting with difficulties, he guards the border of the country. 

Without bothering for life, his famished belly makes us safe gluttons at home. 

Waiting for the safe arrival of her brother, sister prays Almighty to keep him in pink of health.
