Part 1: What Could Have Been

As Rohit walked towards the train station, he felt a sense of excitement building up inside him. He had just completed his final interview for a new job and was feeling confident that he had impressed the hiring manager. He was eager to start a new chapter in his life, and this job was just the opportunity he needed. Rohit had been searching for a job for months, and this one seemed perfect for him. It was a higher-paying job, with better benefits and opportunities for growth. He had done his research, prepared thoroughly for the interview, and had given his best shot. As he walked towards the ticket counter, he was still reliving the moments of the interview in his mind, analysing what he could have done better. He had a choice to make now. He could take the express train, which would get him home in half the time, or he could take the local train and have a longer ride but save some money. Rohit hesitated for a moment, considering the pros and cons of each option. The express train would get him home faster, but it was also more expensive. The local train was cheaper, but it would take longer, and he was already feeling tired after the long interview. He looked at his watch and realized that he still had some time before the next train arrived. He decided to sit down on a bench near the ticket counter and take a moment to think. As he sat there, watching the people rushing past him, he couldn't help but wonder what could have been if he had taken the local train instead. He imagined himself sitting in the local train, surrounded by the usual crowd of office-goers and college students. He could picture himself gazing out of the window, lost in thought, as the train made its way through the city. He might have struck up a conversation with a fellow passenger, or read a book, or simply enjoyed the peaceful moments of solitude.

On the other hand, he thought of the express train, with its air-conditioned coaches, comfortable seats, and fast speed. He would be able to reach home much earlier and would have more time to relax and unwind. He could catch up on his favourite TV show or call up his friends to share the good news of his interview. He weighed the options carefully, and finally decided to take the express train. As he boarded the train, he felt a sense of relief and excitement. He had made the right choice, he told himself. He took a seat by the window, opened his laptop, and started typing out an email to his family and friends. He wanted to share his happiness with everyone and let them know that he had finally found the job of his dreams.

As the train pulled out of the station, Rohit leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes. He felt a sense of satisfaction and contentment, knowing that he had made the right choice. He smiled to himself, thinking of all the opportunities that lay ahead of him.

Part 2: What Actually Happened

As Rohit boarded the express train, he felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. He had made the right choice, he told himself. He had a good feeling about this job, and he knew that he would be able to make a real difference in his new role. As the train moved out of the station, Rohit took out his laptop and started typing out his email. He was so engrossed in his thoughts and his work that he didn't notice the time passing by. Before he knew it, the train had already covered half the distance, and it was almost time for him to get off.Rohit found himself in a state of confusion. He wasn't sure what to do next. He didn't have any specific plans, and the sudden change in his life had left him feeling lost.

He spent the first few days after his PlayStation at home, watching TV, and scrolling through his social media feeds. He felt a sense of guilt for not doing anything productive, but he couldn't help it. He didn't have any motivation or inspiration to start something new.

But then, one day, he decided to take a walk around his neighbourhood. As he strolled down the familiar streets, he started to notice things he had never paid attention to before. The small shops and cafes, the street art, and the unique architecture of the buildings. He felt a renewed appreciation for his neighbourhood, and it was as if he was seeing everything for the first time.

Rohit's walk led him to a local community centre, where he noticed a sign advertising free adult education classes. The classes covered everything from basic math and English to computer skills and career development. Rohit felt a spark of curiosity and decided to sign up for the classes.

Over the next few weeks, Rohit threw himself into the classes, eagerly absorbing everything he could. He found that he had a natural talent for computer programming and decided to pursue a career in tech. He started taking online courses and attending networking events to expand his knowledge and make new connections. As he started to build his new career path, Rohit also began to explore his creative side. He started writing short stories and poetry, which he shared with a local writing group. He found that he had a talent for writing and was encouraged by the positive feedback he received. Through his journey of self-discovery, Rohit found that his true passion was using technology and creative writing to make a positive impact on the world. He started working on a project that combined both of his interests - a mobile app that used storytelling to teach children about social issues.

The app quickly gained popularity, and Rohit was invited to speak at a tech conference about his innovative idea. He was nervous but excited to share his project with the world. As he stepped onto the stage, he looked out at the crowd and felt a sense of fulfilment that he had never experienced before. As he finished his presentation, the audience erupted into applause. Rohit couldn't help but smile as he realized that he had found his true calling. He had taken a chance, and it had led him down a path that he could never have imagined.

Looking back, Rohit realized that losing his job was the best thing that could have happened to him. It forced him out of his comfort zone and allowed him to discover his true passions and talents. He knew that he had a long way to go, but he was excited for the journey ahead.

As he walked out of the conference hall, he felt a sense of contentment wash over him. He knew that he had found his true purpose in life and was ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead. Rohit had unknowingly experienced a "sliding doors" moment, and he was grateful for the path that he had taken.
