Rita The Human Bird....

Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Rita. She was a very intelligent girl but she always longed for freedom. She thought that she never had freedom in life. She always longed to be a bird. She wanted to soar in the sky, see the world from a different point of view. But she never had that kind of life. All she had to do was do some homework and complete school assignments. One day when she was doing some homework, a strange bird came and sat on her window sill. Rita just ignored it and continued her work. "I can help you," the bird said in a screeching voice. Rita was stunned. "Y-you can talk?" she asked. "Yes, I can. And I am here to help you with being a bird. I want to experience the life of a human and so with some magic, I can exchange our places," the bird replied. Rita happily agreed, after all, being a bird was her dream! The strange bird chanted some very confusing words and suddenly Rita felt light! She screamed with joy and flew, but she had not learned flying so she fell down. The bird ( who was now Rita) laughed at her and went away. Rita kept trying and finally, she was able to fly. It was rough, not smooth but at least she could fly! It was almost bedtime, so she decided to rest in the nest n her mango tree which was empty. She yawned and slowly flew towards the nest. it was all made up of sticks and stones. she rested her soft and de

licate body on the twigs. She was uncomfortable, she was so used to sleep on her comfy, large bed so she felt different.

After an uncomfortable sleep, Rita woke up. She wanted breakfast but she knew that she had to search for it. She flew to her house, hoping that she would get something there, but no, there was nothing there. She saw the bird soundly sleeping on her bed. She was jealous so she flew away. After a lot of searching, she finally got a few grains. The other birds laughed at her flying. She was not at all having fun. She also missed her mother and father, their smiling faces, and her cute little sister, Rina. Then, Rita decided that she wanted to have her life back. She flew back to her house and knocked on the door with her beak. The bird opened the window, with an expression like it was expecting to see this. "So, you want your life back don't you," it said. Without waiting for the answer, it chanted the same words it had in the morning. they switched places, but this time, what Rita saw was not a bird, it was something like, GOD. "I hope you have learned your lesson, Rita. You don't get freedom like money, you have to find it," God said. Rita nodded and then she was the happiest girl in town!!
