‘What would my parents, Kavita aunty and her daughter Adhira think of me? Adhira will taunt me and my parents forever. “Look the daughter of a great mathematician and a famous scientist couldn’t even pass the tenth board exams!” Then what will I say to my parents?’

She stared at her gleaming certificate of ‘Dancer of the Year’ sitting promptly on her lonely desk. She went towards it; picked it up; stared at it and remembered all her practice days. Tears rolled down her eyes as she thought about the dream of opening a dance school.

In Bidadi her parents were buying the pre-university textbooks for Aadhya. They were traveling towards Bangalore, where Aadhya lived in NITTE international school.

They were surprised not to find their daughter waiting for them near the gate waiting for them.

 “Maybe she is tired and is resting. Come let's give her a surprise, ” said her excited mother.

Swiftly they went to their daughter’s room and turned the knob of the door. 

 They were greeted with Aadhya’s dangling legs and the laptop screen with 10th results website opened on the rumpled bed and shards of glasses of her certificate surrounding their deceased daughter.
