Poverty is the situation in which a person experiences a scarcity of material possessions or income required to acquire basic needs of life - food, cloth and house.

Raghav experienced poverty since his childhood as he was born in a poor family. His father worked as a peon in the city college. He had three siblings - one brother and two sisters. His mother worked as a dishwasher in some houses to earn some money.

Raghav was good at studies and he got scholarships from an early age. This money helped him a lot in his studies. He studied engineering from an IIT and much of his college fees was waived as he was a topper.

After graduating he worked in a multinational company, earning good bucks of money. He married and had kids. His financial wellbeing meant that his fa

mily was no longer poor. He married his two sisters in decent families and got his brother a good job. Now he lives in a plush bungalow with his parents, wife, and kids.

After some years he thought of giving back to the society which had given him so much. He decided to sponsor the education of ten kids annually who were economically backward and needed financial support.

He started an NGO in his father's name, 'Sitaram Charitable Trust', and every year his trust sponsors ten children who are good at studies but due to financial constraints were not studying or were experiencing difficulty in continuing their studies.

Raghav hopes that his NGO helps in eradicating poverty from the lives of these children and hopes that India becomes poverty free sooner than later!
