Sobbin' with your head in your hands

Ain't that the way shit always ends?

And maybe what we need to focus more on is that shit Always ends. Because it does. No matter what you try to do about it, no matter how hard you keep trying to hold on. No matter how much effort you put it, sometimes people are just not ready for all that you're willing to give.

And maybe it's because they are afraid too. Somewhere in their hearts they know that they just might get attached, they might get too close, they just might let their hearts open up and God knows almost all of us have been burnt when we flew too close to the sun.

And it's not that we don't believe in it. We will talk to you about fairytales and sunsets, we will tell you stories about forever's and happily ever afters, about first kisses and smiles that make your cheeks hurt.

But we will never believe that they are for us.

Because we know what happens once the curtain closes, we know how the stage is littered with broken hearts and teary goodbyes. We know those late nights texts that go unanswered, the people you've told your deepest secrets to as they pretend you don't exist, the calls we try to hide as drunk dials, we know them all.

So now we believe that we are better off letting go, we are better off not letting something begin at all because we all know how it ends.

How it Always ends.
